strategic plan
Our 2026–2028 Strategic Plan outlines the priorities, goals, and commitments guiding our work over the next three years.
our vision
A future where every young adult with diabetes (ages 16–30) has fair access to community and resources to help them thrive, regardless of background or geography.
why now
Young adults with diabetes are navigating a world defined by change: rapid advancements in diabetes technology, rising costs of care, and unprecedented social and economic uncertainty. Resources and support must be designed *with* young adults in mind - authentic, relevant, and delivered through the platforms and formats that shape their daily lives.
By showing up consistently and authentically in their spaces, we can earn trust, drive engagement, and ultimately help young adults thrive as whole, confident people living with diabetes - not defined by it.
where we're headed by 2028
By the end of 2028, The Diabetes Link will be the trusted, authentic national voice for young adults living with all forms of diabetes,- delivering programs, content, and resources that reflect their lived realities, identities, and culture.
We will purposefully expand into under-resourced and underinsured populations so that more young adults have access to the community and support that meets them where they are.
our five strategic priorites
Establish national leadership as the authentic young adult voice.
Build the emotional trust and educational presence that make The Link the first place a young adult turns at diagnosis and beyond.
Expand to serve underinsured and underresourced young adults.
Reach beyond traditional campuses into community colleges, trade schools, and underserved communities.
Build operational agility and programmatic focus.
